An exotic combination of East and West
We’re taking you on a trip to the historic city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a place where two cultures and two religions are linked together by the beautiful Stari most bridge (lit. old bridge), protected by UNESCO for its outstanding architectural and symbolic importance.
Along with the gurgle of the Neretva River, visitors will be able to enjoy a stroll through Kujundžiluk, a charming stone-paved bazaar that bustles with life in the warmer months. Here, artisans offer dazzling jewellery, crockery, fildžan cups, colourful scarves and a myriad of wonderful items, while the restauranteurs invite you in for a cup of Turkish coffee served in copper cezve pots.
It’s hard to resist the charm of Mostar’s mosques and houses that will take you back to the Ottoman era, and even harder the challenge of local specialities such as dolma, japrak, ćevapi, pies baked under the lid and fragrant baklava and urmašice cakes.
